Jigsaw Puzzles: Swap the Pieces

Drag a piece onto another to swap them, or tap two pieces. Pieces in the right place lock in with a glow. Rebuild all three scenes.

About Jigsaw

Jigsaw puzzles remain among the most-downloaded puzzle apps, and this version is designed for quick, satisfying sessions. Each game includes three original painted scenes: mountains and a lake, a beach at sunset, a city at night and hot-air balloons.

Puzzles grow from 3×3 to 5×5 pieces. A small preview shows the finished picture.

Tips and strategy for Jigsaw

History of the game

Jigsaw puzzles date back to the 1760s, when London mapmaker John Spilsbury mounted maps on wood and cut them into pieces as teaching tools.

How we built and tested Jigsaw

The four scenes are original illustrations drawn for Puzzle Den. Shuffles are generated so that only a few pieces start in the correct place.
